After what was ultimately a disappointing 2018/19 Championship campaign for West Bromwich Albion, there is a sense of optimism and excitement in the fanbase following the appointment of former Croatia and West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic.
The club still has questions surrounding it and we’re far from out of the woods yet with ongoing concern about owner Guochuan Lai and his interest, let alone our financial state, but with Bilic being a lift the season begins to get a little more real now following the release of the fixture list for 2019/20 the other day.
There’s More Than A Worrying Whiff Of Villa About This For West Brom – Let’s Hope Not
It’s a family face as we open the year with a trip to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest and the first home tie of the year is Millwall (a double header given we face them in the EFL Cup that week), but in some ways the season doesn’t really get tricky until October where we face Leeds United, Cardiff City and Middlesbrough in quick succession.
November and December look a bit more tricky on paper, but with promotion again ultimately being our aim, the list could’ve been harsher. Hit the ground running and see where we go.
Them games towards the end of the season are tasty yet again

October will be a tough month with Leeds, Cardiff and Middlesbrough back to back. Final run in sees Derby and Fulham as penultimate home games before QPR. Dec and Feb are the most hectic months with 6 games each excluding any cup games.
